If you are a Korean BBQ lover, you probably have some ssamjang sitting around. If chickpeas are also a staple in your pantry, you have the makings for a very tasty snack.
Ssamjang is very similar to gochujang, just with other added goodies blended in there. This usually includes garlic, onion, sesame seeds, mushroom, green onion, mustard powder and some type of sugar or syrup. It is a small amount of sugar but nevertheless, if you’d like to avoid it you can just use gochujang instead.
All you need is:
- ~ 3 cups cooked chickpeas
- 1 1/2 tbsp ssamjang
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the ssamjang and olive oil in a medium mixing bowl. Slowly mix in the chickpeas, being careful not to smash them.
Pour the chickpeas onto the lined baking sheet and cook for 10 minutes. Switch to broil and cook another 5 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy!
